Scan multiple pages into one file instead of each scan being saved as a separate file.

In order to scan a multi-page document into a single file, you must configure the scan to use a file type that supports multi-page documents.  Complete the steps listed below:

 

In Macintosh, to scan multiple pages into one file, you need the Presto! PageManager. The Presto! PageManager is provided on the installation CD for your machine, and usually installed during the MFL-Pro Suite installation.

How to scan from Home Mode of ControlCenter4 for Windows

  1. Lift the document cover.
     
  2. Place the documents face down on the scanner glass.
     
  3. Close the document cover.
     
  4. Click Scan tab.
     
  5. Select Custom and Scan size.
     
  6. Click Custom Settings.

  7. The Custom Scan Settings window will appear. Configure scan settings and check Manual multi-page scan or Continuous Scanning, and then click OK.

  8. Click Scan. The machine will then start scanning.

  9. When scanning is finished, it will ask if you wish to scan more pages. If you want to scan more pages, put the next document on the scanner glass and press the Continue button. When you have finished scanning all your documents, click the Finish button.

  10. The scanned image will be display the image viewer. Confirm and edit (if necessary) the scanned image.
     
  11. Click Save or Send E-mail.

  12. The dialog will appear. Under File Type select an option that allows multi-page documents:

     

    1. TIFF Muliti-Page (*.tif)
    2. PDF (*pdf)
    3. Secure PDF (*.pdf)
    4. XML Paper Specification (*.xps)

     

  13. Click OK.

How to scan from Advanced Mode of ControlCenter4 for Windows

  1. Lift the document cover.
     
  2. Place the documents face down on the scanner glass.
     
  3. Close the document cover.
     
  4. Click Scan tab.

  5. Right-click the Image button, File button or E-mail button, then select Button settings.

  6. The Scan to configuration window will appear. The screens may differ depending on your choice.
     
  7. Under File Type select an option that allows multi-page documents:

     

    1. TIFF Muliti-Page (*.tif)
    2. PDF (*pdf)
    3. Secure PDF (*.pdf)
    4. XML Paper Specification (*.xps)

     

  8. Configure scan settings and check Manual multi-page scan or Continuous Scanning.
     
  9. Click OK.

  10. Click the type of scan you require. The buttons are: Image, E-mail and File. The machine will then start scanning.
     
  11. When scanning is finished, it will ask if you wish to scan more pages. If you want to scan more pages, put the next document on the scanner glass and press the Continue button. When you have finished scanning all your documents, click the Finish button.

How to scan using the Presto! PageManager for Macintosh

Depending on the model, the Presto! PageManager may not be included on the supplied CD-ROM.
 
  1. Lift the document cover.
     
  2. Place the documents face down on the scanner glass.
     
  3. Close the document cover.
     
  4. Double click on the Presto! PageManager shortcut icon on the desktop or click Macintosh HD -> Application -> Presto! PageManager 9 for BR -> Presto! Page Manager SE 9.app or click Go -> Application ->  Presto! PageManager 9 for BR -> Presto! Page Manager 9.35.app.
     
  5. Click File -> Acquire Image Data.

  6. Configure the scan settings and click Start.

  7. Put the next document on the scanner glass and repeat step 5-6 until you have finished scanning all your documents.
     
  8. Select the scanned files you want to save into one file.

  9. Click Tool -> Merge All Files into a Single PDF.

  10. Set the file name and the folder, and click Save.
    image

     

  11. The files become one PDF file as below, and it is saved in the folder of your choice.
