Can I send a fax without scanning the documents into memory?

When your Brother machine's memory is full, it cannot scan documents into memory before faxing them. Real Time Transmission allows you to send faxes without first scanning the documents into memory.

When Real Time Transmission is on, you place the document in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and dial the fax number you want to send to. As soon as your fax line is free, your Brother machine will dial the fax number and send the fax in real time.

You can make Real Time Transmission your default sending setting or temporarily activate it for the next fax you send.

To turn Real Time Transmission on, follow these steps:

  1. Place the document you want to fax face down in the ADF.

  2. Press MENU, 2 (Fax), 2 (Setup Send), 6 (Real Time TX).
