Store One Touch and Speed Dial numbers on my Brother machine for easy dialing.

You can store One Touch and Speed Dial numbers on your Brother machine for easy dialing. If you lose electrical power, One Touch and Speed Dial numbers stored in your Brother machine's memory will not be lost.





Storing One Touch Dial numbers



Your Brother machine has 4 One Touch keys on which you can store up to 8 fax or telephone numbers for automatic dialing.



To store One Touch numbers from the Brother machine's control panel, follow these steps:


  1. Press Menu/Set.

  2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose FAX and press Menu/Set.

  3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose SET AUTO DIAL or SET QUICK DIAL and press Menu/Set.

  4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose ONE-TOUCH DIAL and press Menu/Set.

  5. Press the One Touch key on which you want to store the number.

    • To access One Touch number 5 through 8, hold down Shift and press the appropriate One Touch key.


  6. Enter the fax or telephone number you want to store.

    • The number can be up to 20 digits long.

    • You can press Redial/Pause to enter a 3.5-second pause in the dialing sequence.

      You can repeatedly press Redial/Pause to make the pause as long as needed.


  7. Press Menu/Set.

  8. Do one of the following:

    • Use the dial pad to enter the name or company name you are storing.

      The name can be up to 15 characters long.

    • To store the number without a name, go to Step 9.


  9. Press Menu/Set.

  10. Do one of the following:

    • Go back to Step 5 to store another One Touch number.

    • Press Stop/Exit.


  11. Print an Auto Dial list or Quick Dial list to confirm the numbers have been stored:

    The Auto Dial list or Quick Dial list is a numerical list of all names and numbers in One Touch and Speed Dial memory.


    1. Press Reports.

    2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose AUTO DIAL or QUICK DIAL and press Menu/Set.

      • Your machine will print the Auto Dial list or Quick Dial list.


Storing Speed Dial numbers



You can store up to 100 two-digit Speed Dial numbers on your Brother machine. You can save a name with each number.


To store Speed Dial numbers from your Brother machine's control panel, follow these steps:


  1. Press Menu/Set.

  2. Press the Up or Down key to choose FAX and press Menu/Set.

  3. Press the Up or Down key to choose SET AUTO DIAL or SET QUICK-DIAL and press Menu/Set.

  4. Press the Up or Down key to choose SPEED-DIAL and press Menu/Set.

  5. Use the dial pad to enter the three-digit Speed Dial location on which you want to store the number.

    • You can enter 01 through 120.


  6. Press Menu/Set.

  7. Enter the fax or telephone number you want to store.

    • The number can be up to 20 digits long.


  8. Press Menu/Set.

  9. Do one of the following:

    • Use the dial pad to enter the name or company name you are storing. The name can be up to 15 characters long.

    • To store the number without a name, go to Step 10.


  10. Press Menu/Set.

  11. Do one of the following:



  12. Print an Auto Dial list to confirm the numbers have been stored:

    The Auto Dial list is a numerical list of all names and numbers in Speed Dial memory.


    1. Press Reports.

    2. Press the Up or Down key to choose AUTO DIAL or QUICK DIAL and press Menu/Set.

      • Your machine will print the Auto Dial list or Quick Dial list.
