Reduce printing noise

Please follow the steps below to reduce printing noise.

*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For touchscreen models" below.

When the Quiet Mode is turned on, the print speed becomes slower.

  1. Make sure that the front cover is closed and the power cord is plugged in.
  2. Turn on the machine and wait until the machine is in the Ready mode. Press Menu.
  3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose General Setup. Press OK.
  4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Quiet Mode. Press OK.
  5. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose On. Press OK.
  6. Press Stop/Exit.

<For touchscreen models>

  1. Make sure that the front cover is closed, and the power cord is plugged in.
  2. Turn on the machine and wait until the machine is in the Ready mode.
  3. Press Menu.
  4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display General Setup. Press General Setup.
  5. Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Quiet Mode. Press Quiet Mode.
  6. Press On.
  7. Press Stop/Exit.
