Uninstall the driver (OS X 10.10 or greater).

Follow the steps below to uninstall the driver.

 

  1. Disconnect the USB cable between the Mac and your Brother machine. (if applicable)
     
  2. Log on as an Administrator.
     
  3. Remove your Brother machine from the list of available scanners in the Printers & Scanners dialog box.
    (macOS 13 or later)
    1. Click Apple Menu and select System Settings.
    2. Scroll and select Printers & Scanners in the left navigation bar.
    3. Select your Brother machine from the list.
      If your machine name is not listed, go to Step 4.
    4. Click Remove Scanner to remove your machine.
      When the confirmation screen appears, click Remove Scanner again.
    (OS X 10.10 - macOS 12)
    1. Click the Apple Menu and select System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Select your Brother machine from the list.
      If your machine name is not listed, go to Step 4.
    3. Click the - button to remove your machine.
      When the confirmation screen appears, click Delete Scanner.
  4. Click Go from the Finder bar, Applications => Brother => [model name].
     
  5. Double click the Brother [model name] Uninstaller.
     
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the driver.
