A communication error occurs when trying to print.

Please check the following:
 

  • Make sure that the interface cable is properly connected. Data transmission communication errors can occur when using other interface cables, so use the supplied one. Disconnect and reconnect it to your computer a few times.
  • Make sure that PTCOM*(dedicated COM* port for P-touch) is selected as the printer port. You can verify and change the selection of the printer port in the printer driver Properties window.
  • Make sure that the COM port is active. On some computers, COM ports are assigned to IrDA (Infrared Data Association) or modems as the factory setting. For assistance in changing the computer's COM port setting, refer to the instruction manual for your computer or consult the computer manufacturer.
  • On some computers, the COM port number could be shown as "2" even though there is only one serial port. Make sure the COM port number corresponds to the port where the P-touch/StampCreator is connected.

    How to check the COM port number:
    Click [Start] > ([Windows System]) > [Control Panel] > [Hardware and Sound] > [Devices and Printers] > [Device Manager] - Select [Ports (COM & LPT)].
    Make sure the COM port number (COM1,COM2, etc.) corresponds to the port where the P-touch/StampCreator is connected. If Com port shows an error status, refer to the instruction manual for your computer or consult the computer manufacturer.
