The machine cannot print over the network. / The machine is not found on the network even after successful installation.
Please check the following.
If the issue continues, uninstall the printer driver and software, and then reinstall them.
- Are the machine, access point / router or network hub turned on?
- Is security software being used?
- Is the machine assigned an available IP address?
- Did the previous print job fail?

Are the machine, access point / router or network hub turned on?
Check the following.- The machine is turned on.
- All protective packaging has been removed from the machine.
- The covers are fully closed.
- The media is correctly installed.
- A network cable is securely connected to the machine and the router or hub.

Is security software being used?

Did you grant permission when the security alert message appeared during a standard installation or BRAdmin Light installation or when using the printing features?
If you did not grant permission when the security alert message appeared, the firewall function of your security software may be preventing access. Some security software may block access without showing a security alert message. To allow access, see the instructions for the security software or contact the manufacturer. -
Has the port number required for the Brother network features been specified?
The following port number is used for Brother network features.
BRAdmin Light: Port number 161 / Protocol UDP

Is the machine assigned an available IP address?

Check the IP addresses and the subnet masks.
Make sure that both the IP addresses and subnet masks of your computer and the machine are correct and located on the same network.
For information on how to check the IP address and subnet mask, ask the network administrator. -
Use Communication settings of the "Printer Setting Tool" to check the IP address, subnet mask and other network settings. For details, see "Where can I find the printer's network settings, such as IP address?".

Did the previous print job fail?
If the failed print job is still in your computer’s print queue, delete it.-
Open the Devices and Printers window.
For details, see “How to open the Devices and Printers window.” - Double-click the printer icon in the window, and then click Cancel All Documents in the Printer menu.
