Use Artspira to make a sublimation T-shirt!

About Sublimation Printing:

  • This Sublimation Printer uses Sublimation Ink to print onto Sublimation Paper.
  • Sublimation is a process that involves printing a design onto a specific type of coated paper, and then transferring that image onto another material (usually polyester) with a heat press.
  • Use a heat press machine suitable for the material you are using.

Step

  1. Prepare the materials.
    • Sublimation Printer
    • Heat Press
    • Base Material
    • Sublimation Paper
    • Butcher Paper
    • Heat Resistant Tape
    • Pressing Mat

  2. Load the Sublimation Paper.
Load the paper, making sure the printable side is facing down in the paper tray.
To ensure the printable side is facing down, confirm that the paper's cut corner is in the lower right corner of the paper tray. For more information, click here.

  3. Print your design from Artspira.
Launch Artspira, and then tap [New] > [Printing] > [Design Editor].
Select the image or enter the text you want.
Go to the Settings screen and make sure "Mirror Printing" is turned on.

The default setting for Mirror Printing differs, depending on the application you print from. Confirm this setting before printing.

  4. Transfer your image.
Put your Pressing Mat on a Tape to affix it firmly to the T-Shirt. Place another sheet of Butcher Paper on top of the Sublimation Paper.

When stacking each element, be sure to keep all paper and material completely flat, and ensure the Heat Resistant Tape is affixed properly so that nothing shifts during the heat transfer process.

Follow the Heat Press instructions to transfer the sublimated image onto your T-shirt.

    • About (2): Placing Butcher Paper directly under the Heat Press can prevent ink from sticking to the iron plate.
    • About (3): Using Heat Resistant Tape to stick the Sublimation Paper to your T-Shirt can keep the image from shifting.
    • About (6): Placing Butcher Paper inside the T-Shirt can prevent ink from bleeding through to the other side of the T-Shirt.
    • Transfer temperature and time vary, depending on the base material. For more information, see this Heat Press Guide.
