When should I use the extra spool pin?

When using spools with a size that cannot be loaded into the thread cassette, use the extra spool pin.

 

When threading the upper thread, carefully follow the instructions.
If the upper threading is not correct, the thread may become tangled or the needle may bend or break.

 

  1. Place the spool of thread onto the extra spool pin.

  2. Slide the spool cap for the size of the spool onto the spool pin.

  3. Insert the tabs on the extra spool pin into the holes on the top of the thread cassette.

  4. Thread the thread cassette with the thread from the spool on the extra spool pin.

  5. Check that the thread cassette indicator is lit up in green, and insert the thread cassette (with the extra spool pin attached) into the thread cassette compartment.
    Use both hands to press down on both sides of the extra spool pin.

    • At the same time that the thread cassette is inserted, the needle is threaded.
    • The extra spool pin is now installed.
