Dial Restriction for Fax sending.

This function prevents transmission to the wrong destination and restrict sending a fax by manual dialing.

For example, you can prevent transmission to the wrong destination by requiring the user to enter the fax number twice, or you can prevent private use of fax by requiring using the Address Book.

How to set Dial Restriction

Available options in Dial Restriction

For each method of specifying the destination listed below, you can require entering the destination twice or restrict using the method by turning Dial Restriction on to prevent wrong fax transmission. (Available options to specify destinations may differ depending on the Brother machine being used.)

  • Dial Pad : Entering manually using the dial pad.
  • Address Book : Specifying from the Address Book.
  • Shortcuts : Specifying from the registered Shortcuts.
  • LDAP Server : Specifying from the destinations registered on LDAP server.
If you choose Enter # twice

When the user presses Fax Start, the machine will ask the user to re-enter the destination. After the user enters the same destination again and presses Fax Start, a fax will be sent.

If you choose On

The user cannot use the method to specify the destination.
