Replace Reverse Roller
The message Replace Reverse Roller indicates that the Reverse Roller needs to be replaced with a new one.
Your machine is equipped with a scan counter that automatically counts how many times the machine has scanned. When the machine scans 200,000 times, the machine will display the message Replace Reverse Roller to remind you to replace the Reverse Roller.
Your Brother machine will have an issue scanning documents if you do not replace the Reverse Roller.
Follow the steps below to replace the Reverse Roller.

Open the Front Cover (1).

From the back of the machine, pinch the both sides of the Reverse Roller Cover (1) and pull the Cover down.

To remove the Reverse Roller, grab its shaft and pull it toward you and out to the right (1).

Slide the new Reverse Roller (1) into the opening on the left and place it into the machine.
- Close the Reverse Roller Cover.
- Close the Front Cover.
- Reset the counter. Follow the steps below to reset the Reverse Roller Counter.
Reset the Reverse Roller Counter
When you replace the Reverse Roller with a new one, you need to reset the Reverse Roller Counter by completing the following steps:
Reset the Reverse Roller Counter only when you replaced the Reverse Roller with a new one.
- Press (Settings).
- Press the Up or Down arrow to display Machine Info.
- Press Machine Info.
- Press Usage Counter.
- To reset the the Reverse Roller Counter, press Reverse Roller Count.
- When the machine's display shows the confirmation message, press Yes.
- Press (Home).
