Drums End Soon/ Drum End Soon(X)
The Drum End Soon messages indicate the drum unit will need to be replaced soon.
- Drums End Soon
If the LCD shows Drums End Soon, it means the 4 drum units are near the end of their life.
- Drum End Soon(X)
If the LCD shows Drum End Soon(X), it means only the drum unit for the color indicated on the LCD is near the end of its life. (X) indicates the drum unit color that is near the end of its life. (K) or (BK)=Black, (Y)=Yellow, (M)=Magenta, (C)=Cyan.
Even when the LCD displays the message Drums End Soon or Drum End Soon(X), you can still continue to print. You can replace the drum unit when you feel the print quality is no longer acceptable or when the message Replace Drums or Replace Drum(X) is displayed.
However, it is a good idea to have a new drum unit set or a drum unit and have it ready for when the Replace Drums or Replace Drum(X) status is indicated.

The Brother machine has separate consumables the toner cartridge and the drum unit. Verify you replace only the drum unit and not the toner cartridge. If you want to know their difference, refer to "What is the difference between the toner cartridge and the drum unit?"
