If the batteries are running low, the machine will not turn on.

Replace all batteries with six new AAA (LR03).

Also check that the batteries are installed correctly.

In the bottom layer, the "+" POSITIVE ends should points toward the top edge of the machine, away from the cassette cover.

In the upper layer, the "+" POSITIVE ends should points toward the bottom edge of the machine, pointing toward the cassette cover.
