1. MY CUSTOM STITCH

[1-01] Designing a stitch using the MY CUSTOM STITCH function

MY CUSTOM STITCH

Let's try creating original decorative stitches using the "MY CUSTOM STITCH" function.
You can register stitches you have created yourself.

 

  • Stitches can be designed more easily with MY CUSTOM STITCH if you first draw the stitch on the included grid sheet.

 

 

2. Various sewing

[2-01] Blind Hem Stitching

Let's take a look at blind hem stitching.

Secure the lower edge of skirts and pants with a blind hem.

 

  • For blind hem stitching, use the blind stitch foot "R".

[2-02] Overcasting Stitches

Let's take a look at how to sew overcasting stitch.

Sew overcasting stitches along the edges of cut fabric to prevent them from fraying.

 

  • For the overcasting stitch used in the video, use the overcasting foot "G".

[2-03] Buttonhole sewing

Let's take a look at buttonhole sewing.

You can make buttonholes appropriate to the size of your button with the machine.

 

  • For buttonhole sewing, use the buttonhole foot "A".

Let's take a look at how to sew buttons.

Buttons with two or with four holes can be attached.

 

  • For button sewing, use the button fitting foot "M".

[2-05] Zipper Insertion

Let's take a look at the zipper insertion method.

 

In the first part of the movie, it shows you the method of inserting a centered zipper.

In the latter part of the movie, it shows you the method of inserting a side zipper.

 

  • Prepare the zigzag foot "J" and the zipper foot " I ".
  • When using the the zipper foot " I ", be sure to select the straight stitch (middle needle position) and to check that the needle does not touch the presser foot.
  • When sewing, be sure that the needle does not touch the zipper.

[2-06] Appliqué stitching

Let's take a look at how to attach the appliqué piece to the fabric.

Sew around the edge of the applique piece while dropping the needle as close as to the edge as possible.

 

  • For appliqué stitching, use the zigzag foot "J".

[2-07] Patchwork, Piecing, Quilting and Free motion quilting

Let's try Patchwork, Piecing, Quilting and Free motion quilting.

 

In the first part of the movie, it shows you the method of Piecing. Select a piecing straight stitch and sew with the side of the presser foot aligned with the edge of the fabric.

In the second, it shows you the method of Quilting. Sandwiching batting between the top and bottom layers of fabric is called "Quilting". Quilts can easily be sewn using the walking foot and the foot controller.

In the last, it shows you the method of free motion quilting. We recommend attaching the foot controller and sewing at a consistent speed.
And then, parallel stitches are sewn using the walking foot with the quilting guide. Using the quilting guide is helped to sew easily parallel stitches that are equally spaced.

 

  • Prepare the zigzag foot "J", the foot controller, the walking foot (*), the quilting guide (*) and the free motion open toe quilting foot "O" (*).
    Items marked with an asterisk (*) are sold separately.

[2-08] Bar tack stitching

Let's take a look at how to sew the appliqué piece.

Bar tacks are used to reinforce points subject to strain, such as pocket corners and openings.

 

  • For sewing bar tack stitch, use the buttonhole foot "A".

[2-09] Darning

Let's take a look at how to sew darning stitch.

Darning stitches are used to mending and other applications.

 

  • For sewing darning stitch, use the buttonhole foot "A".

[2-10] Eyelet Stitching

Let's take a look at how to sew eyelet.

Eyelet stitches are used to make belt holes or other similar applications.

 

  • For eylet stitching, use the monogramming foot "N".

[2-11] Fagoting

Let's try Fagoting.

Stitching across an open seam is called "Fagoting". It is used on blouses and children's clothing. This stitch is more decorative when thicker thread is used.

 

  • For fagoting, use the zigzag foot "J".

[2-12] Scallop stitching

Let's try Scallop stitching.

The wave-shaped repeated stitch pattern that looks like shells is called "Scalloping".

This stitches are used to decorate the edges of the project like blouse collars, handkerchiefs.

 

  • For scallop stitching, use the monogramming foot "N".

[2-13] Drawnwork

Let's try Drawnwork.

Partially removing threads is called "Drawnwork".

This gives beautiful results with fabrics that have a loose weave.

 

  • For creating drawnwork, use the monogramming foot "N".
