When I tried to scan the document, it is not feed properly and it jams or seems to feed from one side.

Please check the following:

  1. Make sure the leading edge of your document is not wrinkled and is straight. The leading edge should not be folded, dog eared, or creased; all of these will affect how the document is fed.

  2. Make sure that the document is inserted evenly when you insert it to be scanned. One side or the other of the document being feed in first will skew the image and can cause the document to miss-fed or even jam.

  3. Check the document feed slot and make sure that the slot is clear. There could be staples, paper clips, or chips of correction fluid lodged in the feed slot or on the platen / feed roller. If the feed slot is clear and there are no foreign objects, there could still be a problem with adhesives or glue in the feed slot or on the platen / feed roller. The platen / feed roller may have become contaminated with dust particles causing the platen feed roller to fail to grip the document properly. Both of these problems can be cleared by cleaning the scanner. To clean the scanner, click here to see the instructions on how to clean the scanner.

If the problem still remains, your scanner may require service. Please contact Brother Customer Service from "Contact Us".
