To print, you need to install an application (Color Label Editor/Color Label Editor 2). It can be installed from the App Store or Google Play™.

Follow the steps below to connect your printer to a mobile device in Infrastructure mode (using an access point/router connected to the internet) or Wireless Direct mode (a direct connection without a wireless LAN access point/router).

Connect the printer to my mobile device via Wi-Fi®.

1. Start the application.


2. Color Label Editor:
   Tap [Settings] > [Full Setup] from the [Set up a VC500W Printer] options, and then follow the instructions to proceed with settings.
   Color Label Editor 2:
   Tap [Settings] > [VC-500W] > [Add Printer] and then follow the instructions to proceed with settings.

3. In settings of the mobile device, access the Wi-Fi option, and turn it ON. And choose your printer SSID (Brother VC-500W####) from the Wi-Fi setup screen on your mobile device to connect to a wireless LAN.


4. Open the screen of the application again.


5. Color Label Editor:
   Tap the [Connect Via Wi-Fi Network] button in the [Setup: Connect to VC-500W] screen.
   Color Label Editor 2:
   Tap [Search for Wi-Fi networks] button of the [Connect to Wi-Fi network] screen


6. Choose the Wi-Fi network you want to connect, and enter the password, and make sure that the Wi-Fi button is lit in blue.

3. In settings of the mobile device, access the Wi-Fi option, and turn it ON. And choose your printer SSID (Brother VC-500W####) from the Wi-Fi setup screen on your mobile device to connect to a wireless LAN.


4. Open the screen of the application again.


5. Color Label Editor:
   Tap the [Use Temporary Direct Connection] button in the [Setup: Connect to VC-500W] screen.
   Color Label Editor 2:
   Tap [Cancel] button of the [Connect to Wi-Fi network] screen.


6. Make sure that the Wi-Fi button is lit in white.
