How do I clear the "Awaiting Redial" message?

There are several reasons this message would appear when sending a fax.

  1. If the fax number you are dialing does not answer or the line is busy, this message will appear. Verify you have the correct fax number and try again.

  2. Verify the telephone line cord is connected from the jack (socket) on the FAX/MFC labeled LINE directly to the WALL jack (socket). Disconnect and reconnect to ensure the connection is secure and solid.

  3. Verify if your Brother machine has a dial tone. For more information, please refer to "How can I verify if my Brother machine has a dial tone?".

  4. If the receiving unit is busy, the sending unit will automatically redial the number within 5 minutes. The sending unit will attempt to redial 1 time after 5 minutes (up to three times at five minutes intervals for Europe and Asia/Oceania regions). If the unit is still busy, the sending unit will display "No Response/ Busy" and print out a report with the same message.

How to redial:
Anytime you want to make a second call to the last number dialed, press Redial/Pause and then Fax Start or Start.
