How do I clear the message "Document Jam" from the LCD display?

The document may get jammed if it is not inserted or fed properly, or if the document scanned from the ADF is too long.
Follow the steps below to clear a document jam.

 

After removing a jammed document, check that no paper scraps are left in the machine that could cause another jam.

 

 

 

CASE A: If the document is jammed in the top of the ADF unit

  1. Take out any paper from the ADF that is not jammed.
  2. Open the ADF cover.
  3. Pull the jammed document out to the right.

  4. Close the ADF cover.
  5. Press Stop/Exit.

CASE B: If the document is jammed under the document cover

  1. Take out any paper from the ADF that is not jammed.
  2. Lift the document cover.
  3. Pull the jammed document out to the left.

CASE C: If the document is jammed at the output tray

  1. Take out any paper from the ADF that is not jammed.
  2. Pull the jammed document out to the right.
