Web Based Management Vulnerability on all Brother Printers: CVE-2023-29984

Description

The printer restarts when you are configuring settings on the Web Based Management page of the Embedded Web Server.

This does not cause data loss or data leaks.

 

Possible solutions

  1. Update your printer with the latest firmware, if available. Check here if you have the latest firmware version.
    To install the latest firmware, download the Firmware Update Tool.
     
  2. Make sure you use the printer in a firewall-protected network environment in the office or with a router at home.
     
  3. If you can restrict the number of IP addresses registered to the printer, register only the IP address of the PC connected to the printer.
