MFC-235C
FAQs & Troubleshooting |
Clear the message "Awaiting Redial"
When you are sending a fax, the machine will scan the documents into the memory before sending. As soon as the telephone line is free, the machine will start dialing and sending. If the fax number you are dialing does not answer, the LCD will display the message "Awaiting Redial" for 4 seconds and then return to the Date & Time.
The machine will attempt to redial 1 time after 5 minutes (up to three times at five minutes intervals for Europe and Asia/Oceania). If the unit is still busy, the sending unit will display "No Response/ Busy" and print out a report with the same message.
If the message "Awaiting Redial" is appearing on the display every time you try to send a fax, follow the steps listed below:
- Verify you have the correct fax number and try again.
- (Only for USA)
Verify the telephone line cord is connected from the jack (socket) on the Brother machine labeled LINE directly to the WALL jack (socket). Disconnect and reconnect to ensure the connection is secure and solid.
- Verify if your Brother machine has a dial tone. Click here to see the details of how to verify if the Brother machine has a dial tone.
If you do not hear a dial tone, refer to the necessary solution.
The automatic redial feature does not work when sending a fax in real time transmission, using the scanner glass. To make a second call to the last number dialed; press Redial/Pause and then Back (Mono) Start or Color (Colour) Start.
