FAQs & Troubleshooting |
Can I program my Brother machine to forward the faxes I receive to another location?
You can use your Brother machine's Fax Forwarding feature to forward the faxes you receive to another location. When Fax Forwarding is on, your Brother machine will receive a fax into its memory, dial the fax number you programmed, and forward the fax to that number.
To turn Fax Forwarding on, follow these steps:
-
Press MENU and choose Fax => Remote Fax Opt => Forward/Store.
-
Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Fax Forward.
-
Press the OK key.
-
Enter the number (up to 20 digits) to which you want faxes forwarded. You can manually enter a number, or use a One-Touch or Speed Dial number.
If you enter a One-Touch or Speed Dial number that contains a Group, your faxes will be forwarded to every number in that Group. -
Press the OK key.
-
Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Backup Print: On or Backup Print: Off.
-
If you choose Backup Print: On, your Brother machine will print each received fax so that you'll have a copy if there is a power failure before the fax is forwarded or there is a problem with the receiving machine.
- If you choose Backup Print: Off and a problem occurs during Fax Forwarding, then your received fax may be erased from memory before it can be printed.
-
If there is a power failure, faxes will be stored in your Brother machine's memory for approximately four days.
- When Fax Forwarding is turned on your machine will only receive black & white faxes into memory. Color faxes will not be received, unless the sending machine converts them to black & white before sending.
-
If you choose Backup Print: On, your Brother machine will print each received fax so that you'll have a copy if there is a power failure before the fax is forwarded or there is a problem with the receiving machine.
-
Press the OK key.
- Press the STOP/EXIT key.
