Looper threading

Always be sure to turn off the power before carrying out the following operation.

Follow the procedure described below to thread the looper.

  1. Open the front cover by sliding to the right and guiding the top toward you.

     

  2. Pull the thread off the spool and directly up through the thread holder (1) and the thread plate (2) on the thread tree from back to front. Pass the thread thourgh the thread guide (3) on the top of machine. Pass the thread through the tension disc (4) which is in the channel next to the looper thread tension dial (blue dial).

    • Pass the thread from (3) to (4) as shown in this illustration.
    • Pass the thread through both of the loop of guide and the pretension plate on the thread guide (3).
    • Slide and hold the thread tension release button to the right, then pass the thread through the tension disc which is in the channel next to the tension adjustment dial.

    When using thick thread, such as decorative thread as the looper thread, run the thread as shown in the illustration. Do not run the thread through (C) and (D).

  3. Guide the thread down the channel and pass the thread through the threading points (5) (6) (7) (8) (9) and (10) following the numerical order shown in the illustration.

  4. After running the thread to (10), pull the release lever (11), and then run the thread through (12) and (13).

     

  5. With about 10 cm (4 inch) of thread pulled through the eye of the needle, as shown by (14) in the illustration, move the looper back in the direction of the arrow to lock it.

     

  6. Close the front cover.
