“No machine found” appears when I try to install Brother software and drivers

3. If your machine is still not found, click Wireless Setup and follow the on-screen instructions.

 

To enter text on your machine
Use your machine’s up and down arrow buttons or on-screen keyboard to enter your password’s lower-case and upper-case letters, numbers, or symbols. You may need to press the OK button after entering each character and after entering the entire password.

4. The machine tries to connect to the wireless network you have selected.

If your Brother machine connects successfully
When the connection has been established successfully, continue with the Brother software and driver installation.

 

If you cannot connect

  • Turn the following devices off and then on again in the following order: Wireless Router/Access Point > Computer/Mobile Device > Brother Machine

    Wait at least five minutes for your Brother machine to join the wireless network, and then click Refresh to search for the machine again.
     
  • If the machine prints a wireless connection report, check the connection status:

    If a TS-xx error is listed in the “Connection : xx” field,  see I get a TS error when trying to print on a wireless network.

2. Wired Connection

 

1. Make sure your Brother machine is turned on.
2. Make sure your Brother machine is correctly connected to your router/access point using a network (Ethernet/LAN) cable.
3. Click Refresh.

If your Brother machine connects successfully
When the connection has been established successfully, continue with the Brother software and driver installation.

 

If you cannot connect

  • Try a different network cable and a different network port on your router/access point.
  • Try disabling the firewall during the installation: Temporarily changing your firewall/security settings to allow network connection. When finished, make sure to turn the firewall on again.
  • If you know the machine's IP address, click the Enter IP Address button and type it.

    Click Refresh to search for the machine again.

Your computer's firewall/security software may prevent the network connection from being established. If you receive firewall-related notifications, we recommend temporarily changing the security settings on your computer to establish the connection.

 
Customize Settings

 

If the Brother machine works correctly after disabling the firewall, this means the firewall on your computer is rejecting the necessary network connection. In this case, either disable the Firewall on your computer whenever you need to use your Brother machine or leave the firewall enabled and adjust the firewall settings by allowing the following internal/external ports:

  • UDP: 54925
  • UDP: 137
  • UDP: 161

IMPORTANT

  • Before disabling the firewall, make sure the changes you want to make are suitable for your network. Brother will not take any responsibility for any consequences of disabling the firewall.
  • When finished, make sure to turn the firewall on again.
