iPrint&Scan displays "No Supported Devices Found" on my mobile device

To make sure your mobile device can detect your Brother machine correctly:

  1. Confirm your mobile device's settings
  2. Confirm that your Brother machine is connected to the network
  3. Confirm that the wireless router/access point's security features allow for the connection to be established
  4. If using multiple wireless routers/access points between your mobile device and the Brother machine, confirm they are correctly connected

1. Confirm your mobile device's settings

iPrint&Scan requires your mobile device to be connected to your wireless network.

  • Turn your mobile device’s Wi-Fi connection setting ON.
  • Make sure your mobile device’s Airplane Mode is off.

2. Confirm that your Brother machine is connected to the network

  • Is your Brother machine connected to a network?
Turn your Brother machine off. Wait a few seconds, and then turn it on again. Wait at least five minutes for the machine to join the network, and then open iPrint&Scan.

If your machine is directly connected to a computer with a USB cable, you need to connect your machine to a wired or wireless network. For more information, see the Quick Setup Guide in the Manuals section of this website (also supplied in the box with the product).

  • Are your Brother machine and the mobile device connected to the same network?
If your Brother machine is connected to a wireless network, confirm that the mobile device is connected to the same wireless network:
Confirm the Brother machine network
  1. Print the Network Configuration Report. The Network Configuration Report lists the current network configuration including the network print server settings, such as the SSID (Network Name) and IP address.
    > How to print the Network Configuration Report
  2. Check the network name "<NAME (SSID)>" on the Network Configuration Report. Your Brother machine is connected to this network name.
Confirm the mobile device network
  1. Tap the settings icon and confirm that the Wi-Fi setting is ON.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi and confirm that the SSID (Network Name) is the same as the one your Brother machine is connected to.
If it is not, select the SSID that the Brother machine is connected to.

3. Confirm that the wireless router/access point's security features allow for the connection to be established

  • Make sure no firewalls or other applications are running in the background as they may be blocking the network connection. Temporarily change the security settings on your computer to establish the connection. When finished, make sure to turn the firewall on again.
  • Make sure any privacy separator options are disabled.
  • If using MAC address filtering on the wireless router/access point, you need to configure the MAC address of your Brother machine.
    > How to verify the MAC Address

4. If using multiple routers/access points between your mobile device and the Brother machine, confirm they are correctly connected

If your mobile device and the Brother machine are connected to different wireless routers or access points, the mobile device may not be able to find the Brother machine depending on the configuration of the wireless router/access point. If there are more than two routers, the settings of all wireless routers and access points may need to be configured again.

Example 1

Make sure your Brother machine is connected to the same router/access point as the mobile device is connected to.

Correct connection example 1

A Internet

B Router

C Wireless router/access point (router function set to On)

Example 2

Turn off the router/access point's router function (for example, DHCP).
For more information on turning the router function off, see the user's guide provided with your router or access point.

Correct connection example 2

A Internet

B Router

C Wireless router/access point (router function set to Off)

If steps 1–4 have not resolved the issue

If you have a computer, connect it to the same network and as your Brother machine and try to print again. For more information about connecting your machine to a network, see the Quick Setup Guide in the Manuals section of this website. If you cannot print from your computer, follow the recommendations below:

For wired networks

> Print using your Brother machine on a wired network (Windows/macOS)

For wireless networks

> Print using your Brother machine on a wireless network (Windows)

> Print using your Brother machine on a wireless network (Mac)

> See the supported models and corresponding functions.
The Brother iPrint&Scan app is available only for the models listed above.
