This may occur if the laser glass dust cover has moved out of position. Please follow the proceedure below:
Power off the printer.
Open the top cover.
Push in the two green OPC belt cartridge lock levers to release.
Hold the OPC belt cartridge by the handle and lift and remove the OPC belt cartridge.
Open the front cover.
Remove all four toner cartridges. The laser unit is located underneath the toner cartridge.
The laser glass dust cover has a bar-coded white label on the left side. Verify the laser glass dust cover is clipped down into place and is not loose. If the dust cover is not securely in place then remove it from inside of the printer.
The printer will print correctly and can be temporarilyused without the laser glass dust cover in place. but it requires replacement. Call your dealer or Brother Customer Service.
Reinstall the toner cartridge and close the front cover.
Reinstall the OPC belt cartridge and pull the two lock levers outward to secure.
Close the top cover and power on the printer.
