How do I install the software on the computer for wired network environment? (for Windows)

  1. Download the [Printer Driver] from the [Downloads] section of this website.
     

  2. Click [Browse] to select the folder you created, click [OK], and then click [Unzip].

     

  3. When finished, click [OK].

     

  4. Open the folder you created and double-click [D_SETUP.exe]. Follow the on-screen instructions.
     

  5. Choose [Wired Network Connection (Ethernet)], and then click [Next].

     

    Follow the on-screen instructions to check the cable and lamp status, and then click [Next].

     

  6. Choose [Brother Peer-to-Peer Network Printer] (recommended) or [Network Shared Printer], and then click [Next].

     

  7. When this screen appears, choose [Change the Firewall port settings to enable network connection and continue with the installation. (Recommended)], and then click [Next].

     

    If you are not using the Windows Firewall, allow access to UDP ports 137 and 161.

     

  8. Choose your machine from the list, and then click [Next].

    If your machine is not found over the network, a different screen may appear.
    Confirm your settings by following the on-screen instructions.

  9. The installation of the Brother drivers will automatically start. The installation screens appear one after another.

    DO NOT cancel any of the screens during the installation.
    It may take a few seconds for all screens to appear.

    For Windows Vista and Windows 7, when the Windows Security screen appears, click the check box and click [Install] to complete the installation.

  10. When the screen for the online user registration is displayed, click [OK] or [Cancel].

    • If you choose [OK], you will go to the online user registration page before finishing the installation (recommended).

    • If you choose [Cancel], installation continues.

  11. Click [Finish]. The software installation is now complete.

    When you are asked to restart the computer, choose [Restart] and click [Finish].
