The information on my label is horizontally compressed and not shaped correctly.
Dirt on the tape feed roller may cause the paper to slip. Follow the steps below to clean the roller with a cleaning sheet.
Turn off the QL-500/550.
Hold the DK Roll compartment cover at the sides near the front of the QL-500/550 and firmly lift up to open the cover.
Remove the DK Roll. Be sure to remove the DK Roll completely before cleaning the roller. The roller cleaning function will not operate correctly if the DK Roll is not removed fully from the machine.
Thread the end (1) of the Cleaning Sheet into the slot immediately before the cutter.
Do not peel off section (2) of the sheet yet. Make sure that the printed surface of the Cleaning Sheet is facing up.
Push the roll lever down to lock the cleaning sheet against the roller, and peel off section (2) of the sheet.
Turn on the QL-500/550.
Press and hold the FEED button for at least one second. The roller rotates for 4" (10 cm).
The length of the Cleaning Sheet is 3" (8.5 cm). Pressing the FEED button for less than one second makes the roller rotate for 1/3" (8 mm) only. Ensure you hold the feed button down for more than one second.
The adhesive surface of the Cleaning Sheet removes any dirt and other debris from the roller. Each Cleaning Sheet can only be used only once. Dispose of the cleaning sheet immediately after use.
Cleaning is now complete and you can re-install your DK Roll back into the QL-500/550.
