Check the firmware version.
Follow the steps below to check the firmware version.
Make sure that the front cover is closed and the power cord is plugged in.
Turn on the printer and wait until the printer is in the ready state.
Press Go three times within 2 seconds.
The firmware version is written at the top of the printed page.
If your Brother machine includes network capability, the network firmware version is written as Node Firmware Ver. on the 3rd page.
