FAQs & Troubleshooting

I cannot connect my Brother machine to a wireless access point.

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

  1. Confirm the settings of the wireless access point.

    1. Make sure you connect your wireless device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) to the Brother machine using the wireless network.

    2. Launch your wireless device's web browser and type http://10.10.100.1 in the address bar.

    3. Type the password.

If you view the scanned image in the browser, view or change the network settings for the first time, the Password Setup screen appears. Set your password and click Apply.

    4. Click Settings and then Brother Online Setting.

    5. Confirm the account settings for BR-Docs to configure it again.

  2. Make sure the wireless access point is powered on.

  3. Move your machine to an obstruction-free area or closer to the wireless access point.

  4. Choose the SSID of the wireless access point you want to use again.

    1. Launch your wireless device's web browser and type http://10.10.100.1 in the address bar.

If the Home screen doesn't appear, make sure you connect your wireless device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) to the Brother machine using the same wireless network.

    2. Type the password if required.

    3. Click Settings => Brother Online Setting => Wi-Fi for Internet Access.

    4. Choose the SSID of the wireless network you want to connect.

    5. A dialog for entering the password will be displayed. Enter the password.

  5. Confirm the IP address of the wireless access point.

    1. Launch your wireless device's web browser and type http://10.10.100.1 in the address bar.

If the Home screen doesn't appear, make sure you connect your wireless device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) to the Brother machine using the same wireless network.

    2. Type the password if required.

    3. Click Settings and then Status.

    4. Confirm the IP address.

      • If the IP address is 0.0.0.0, configure the IP address by using DHCP.

      • If the IP address is other than 0.0.0.0, check with your network administrator for the IP address to use. And then, configure the IP address again.

    5. Only for users who use MAC address filtering on the wireless access point:

Confirm the MAC address of the Brother machine is allowed in the filter.

      > Click here to see the details of the Mac address.

  6. Power off the wireless access point and then power it on again.

  7. Turn off the machine's Wi-Fi switch and then turn it on again.

  8. Power off the machine and then power it on again.
