When I press "Scan" in my scanning software, an error message appears: "Please install scanner" or "The scan was aborted because the scanner is not powered on or not connected properly".

This error message appears if your scanner isn't recognised by your computer.
Follow the steps below to solve the issue.

 

  1. Make sure your scanner is connected properly.
  2. Confirm that the Micro USB cable is working and that is not frayed or damaged in any way.

If the error still appears after verifying that the Micro USB cable is connected properly, reinstall the scanner driver from the DVD-ROM.
