Change the quality of the faxes I send (Fax Resolution).
You can change the quality of your sent faxes by adjusting the Fax Resolution setting.
You can choose the following Fax Resolution settings:
| Standard | Suitable for most typed documents. |
| Fine | Good for small print and transmits a little slower than Standard resolution. |
| S.Fine | Good for small print or artwork and transmits slower than Fine resolution. |
| Photo | Use when the document has varying shades of grey or is a photograph. This has the slowest transmission time. |
Please follow the steps applicable for your case.
- To change the Fax Resolution setting for the next fax only, go to Case A: Changing Fax Resolution for the next fax only.
- To change the default Fax Resolution setting, go to Case B: Changing the default Fax Resolution.
Case A: Changing Fax Resolution for the next fax only:
To change the Fax Resolution setting for the next fax you send, follow these steps:

Press the FAX key to illuminate it.

Load your document(s).

Press the RESOLUTION key.

Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose the Fax Resolution setting you want to use. You can choose Standard, Fine, S. Fine, or Photo.

Press the MENU/SET key.

Enter the fax number you want to send to.
- Press the START key.
Case B: Changing the default Fax Resolution:
To change the machine's default Fax Resolution setting, follow these steps:

Press the FAX key to illuminate it.

Press the MENU/SET and choose Fax => Setup Send => Fax Resolution.

Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose the default Fax Resolution setting that you want to use. You can choose Standard, Fine, S. Fine, or Photo.

Press the MENU/SET key.
- Press the STOP/EXIT key.
