The message "No Device" appears when starting the "Status Monitor".
To resolve this issue, please download and use the patch tool following the instructions below.

Create a "New Folder" on your desktop

Click here to start downloading the patch file.

Save the file to the "New Folder" on your desktop.

Windows® 98/ 98SE/ Me/ 2000 users:
Click START -> SETTINGS -> PRINTERS.
Windows® XP users:
Click START -> PRINTERS AND FAXES. -
Right click the Printer icon of your model name and select Properties.

Click the General tab.

Verify there is text in the "Comment" field. If the field is empty type in your printer name for example: MFC420CN
- Press the Ctrl, Alt and Del keys on the keyboard simultaneously. Click on Task Manager.
- Click on the Processes tab. Click on Image Name.
- Search for the following processes listed under "Image Name": "Brmfcmon.exe" and/or "Brmfcwnd.exe"
- If the processes are listed close "Task Manager" and restart your computer,
- If the processes are not listed close "Task Manager".
- On your Desktop, double click the "New Folder" and locate the file named brlm.EXE and extract it.
- A message stating that the process was successful should appear, click OK
- The issue should be resolved
*For Windows® 98/ 98SE/ Me users:
- Press Ctrl, Alt and Del keys on the keyboard simultaneously to open "Close Program" menu.
- Make sure that "Brmfcmon.exe" and/or "Brmfcwnd.exe" files is listed on this screen.
- If the processes are listed click Cancel to exit and restart your computer,
- If the processes are not listed click Cancel to exit.
- On your Desktop, double click the "New Folder" and locate the file named brlm.EXE and extract it

A message that the process was successful will appear. Click OK.

The issue should be resolved.
