FAQs & Troubleshooting

I'm using Windows Vista. An error message referring to BRSVC01A.EXE appears after installing the printer.

If you are not using the Brother machine and you do not have to use the Brother machine in future, disabling BrSplService would possibly solve the problem.
(start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Administrative Tool -> Service -> BrSplService -> In General tab, select "Disabled" for Startup type.)

To resolve this issue, please update the program of the installed driver following the instructions below:

  1. The Brother End-User License Agreement will appear. If you agree to the terms, click I ACCEPT.
  2. "File Download" will appear. Click SAVE.
  3. Once the download is complete, double click the downloaded file "brsp2p1.EXE" to extract it.
  4. A folder, "brxsp2p1" will be created.
  5. Close all applications on your computer.
  6. Open the "brxsp2p1" folder and double click setup.exe.
  7. You must restart your computer.
  8. The program has been changed and you can print now.
