When I run the Firmware update tool, the "Program failed to run" message appears on my PC screen.

If a personal firewall software (or anti-virus software) is installed on your PC, temporarily disable it. For instructions on how to disable this type of program, please refer to the user's guide for your software or contact the software manufacturer.
 
Once the firmware upgrade installation is completed, enable the program again.
