When receiving a single page fax, why does the fax print on two pages or a blank sheet ejects afterwards?
If the received data is divided and printed on two pages or if you get an additional blank page, your Paper Size setting and/or the Reduction setting may not be correct for the paper you are using.
Adjust the paper size following the instructions listed below:
*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen,
please follow the steps of "For Touchscreen models" below.
Press Tray Setting .
Press Tray#1 or Tray#2 and press OK .
Press the UP or Down Arrow key to choose Paper Size .
Press the Right or Left Arrow key to choose the correct size and press OK .
Press the UP or Down Arrow key to choose Complete and press OK .
Press the UP or Down Arrow key to choose Complete and press OK . <For Touchscreen models>
Press Tray Setting .
Press the displayed paper size or paper type for Tray#1 , or press the displayed paper size for Tray#2 .
Press the Right or Left Arrow key to dislay the paper size options, and press the correct size.
Press Stop/Exit .
If you are using the fixed reduction feature, check to see if the reduction ratio is set to ON . (We recommend turning the setting to "AUTO REDUCTION" ON .)
To check the reduction setting:
*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen,
please follow the steps of "For Touchscreen models" below.
Press the Menu key.
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Fax and press OK .
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Setup Receive and press OK .
Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Auto Reduction .
Press the Right or Left Arrow key to choose ON (or OFF) and press OK .
Press Stop/Exit .
<For Touchscreen models>
Press the Menu key.
Press the UP or Down Arrow key to display Fax .
Press Fax .
Press the UP or Down Arrow key to display Setup Receive .
Press Setup Receive .
Press the UP or Down Arrow key to display Auto Reduction .
Press Auto Reduction .
Press On (or Off ).
Press Stop/Exit .
