When receiving a single page fax, why does the fax print on two pages or a blank sheet ejects afterwards?

If the received data is divided and printed on 2 pages or if you get an additional blank page, your Paper Size setting and/or the Reduction setting may not be correct for the paper you are using.

Adjust the paper size following the instructions listed below:

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Press the up or down arrow key to select General Setup and press OK.
  3. Press the up or down arrow key to select Paper and press OK.
  4. Press the up or down arrow key to select Paper Size and press OK.
  5. Press the up or down arrow key to choose the tray and press OK.
  6. Press the up or down arrow key to choose the paper size you are using and then press OK.
  7. Press Stop/Exit.

If you are using the fixed reduction feature, check to see if the reduction ratio is set to ON. (We recommend turning the setting to "Auto Reduction" ON.)
To check the reduction setting:

  1. Make sure you are in Fax mode .
  2. Press Menu.
  3. Press the up or down arrow key to select Fax and press OK.
  4. Press the up or down arrow key to select Setup Receive and press OK.
  5. Press the up or down arrow key to select Auto Reduction and press OK.
  6. Press the up or down arrow key to choose ON (or OFF) and press OK.
  7. Press Stop/Exit.
