Prevent public users from changing the settings of my Brother machine.
Setting Lock is a feature that lets you set a password to stop other people from accidentally changing your machine settings. While Setting Lock is On, you cannot access Menu or edit the numbers you stored in the Address Book. You can still use the Address Book to send faxes (if applicable) and E-mail messages to previously stored numbers.
For models that support Remote Setup:
Machine settings cannot be changed through the Remote Setup utility while Setting Lock is On.
