How do I lock the control panel settings?

 


To turn on Setting Lock follow the steps listed below:
  1. Press the Menu/Set key on the control panel.
  2. Press the up or down arrow key until General Setup appears and press Menu/Set.
  3. Press the up or down arrow key until Security appears and press Menu/Set.
  4. Press the up or down arrow key until Setting Lock appears and press Menu/Set.
  5. Enter a four-digit number for the password.
  6. Press Menu/Set. The LCD shows "Verify:"
  7. Re-enter the password and press Menu/Set.
  8. Press Stop/Exit.

While the Setting Lock is On, the following operations are NOT available without a password:

  • Date & Time
  • Station ID
  • Set Quick-Dial (One-Touch Dial, Speed-Dial and Setup Groups)
  • Mode Timer
  • Paper Type
  • Small Paper
  • Volume
  • Auto Daylight
  • Ecology
  • LCD Contrast
  • Memory Security

If you forget the setting Lock password, please call Brother Customer Server.
