Print on both sides of the paper.

The supplied printer driver enables manual 2-sided(duplex) printing. The machine prints all the even-numbered pages on one side of the paper first. Then, the driver instructs you to reinsert the paper.

[Guidelines for printing on both sides of the paper]

  • If the paper is thin, it may wrinkle.
  • If paper is curled, straighten it and then put it back in the paper tray or the MP tray.
  • If the paper is not feeding properly, it may be curled. Remove the paper and straighten it.
  • When you use the manual 2-sided(duplex) function, it is possible that there may be paper jams or poor print quality.
  • Make sure paper is loaded into the paper tray.

To do this do the following.

For Windows users:

  1. Open the Properties dialog box in the printer driver.
  2. From the General tab, click the Printing Preferences icon.
  3. From the Advanced tab, click the Duplex icon.
  4. There are six types of 2-sided(duplex) directions available for each orientation. In this mode, the MFC prints all the even numbered pages first. Then the printer driver stops and shows the instructions required to reinstall the paper. When you click OK the odd numbered pages are printed.
  5. Check the Binding Offset option. You can specify the offset value of the binding side in inches or millimetres (0 - 8 inches).

For Macintosh users:

  1. From the Apple menu, open the Chooser.
  2. Click the HL-1200/MFL Pro icon. On the right side of the Chooser, click the printer to which you want to print. Close the Chooser.
  3. From your Macintosh application software such as Simple Text, click the File menu and select Page Setup. You can change the settings for Paper Size, Orientation and Scaling, then click OK.
  4. If you want to change Copies, Pages, Resolution, Paper Source and Media Type, select your settings before clicking Print.
  5. Click the Option... button to set up the 2-Sided(Duplex) printing option.
