BackCover closed

The error message BackCover closed indicates that the back cover is closed when printing from MP tray with thick paper setting.

Please follow these steps below to open the back cover.

NOTE: Illustrations shown below are from a representative product and may differ from your Brother machine.


  1. Open the back cover (face-up output tray).

    Open the back cover (face-up output tray).

    When the back cover is open, do not push it down forcefully. The machine may tip over and cause injury to you.
  2. Pull out the face-up output tray support (1) and unfold the flap (2).

    Pull out the face-up output tray support and unfold the flap.
