FAQs & Troubleshooting

I cannot pair the printer with a Bluetooth® device as my iOS / iPadOS device reconnects to the printer automatically.

A previously paired iOS/iPadOS device will reconnect to the printer automatically if the printer's automatic Bluetooth reconnection feature is enabled.

  1. Turn off the Bluetooth feature of the previously paired iOS/iPadOS devices.

  2. Try to pair the printer with your Bluetooth device.

  3. If the problem still occurs, disable the automatic Bluetooth reconnection feature:

    1. Connect the printer to a Windows computer using a USB cable.

    2. Start the BPM (Brother Printer Management Tool). You can download the BPM from the [Downloads] section of this website.

    3. Click Command Tool.

    4. Type the following command, press the Enter key, and then click Send:
      SET BTLINKBACK OFF
      • If you do not press the Enter key before clicking Send, the command will not be executed.
      • To enable the automatic Bluetooth reconnection feature, type the following command and press the Enter key, and then click Send:
        SET BTLINKBACK ON
