Change the tray my Brother machine uses for copies
You can select the tray your Brother machine will use for copying.
Follow the steps below to change the default tray setting:

Press (Settings).

Press the Up or Down arrow key to display General Setup.

Press General Setup.
-
Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Tray Setting.

Press Tray Setting.
-
Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Tray Use: Copy.

Press Tray Use: Copy
-
Press Tray #1, Tray #2, or Auto Tray Select.
Auto Tray Select allows the machine to feed paper from either Tray #1 or Tray #2 using the Paper Size and Paper Type you programmed for each tray.

Press (Home).
Follow the steps below to change the tray setting for the next copy job:

Do one of the following:

Place the document(s) you want to copy face down in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).

Place the document you want to copy face down on the flat scanner glass.

Press (Copy)

Use the dial pad to enter the number of copies you want to make.

Press Options.
-
Press the Up or Down arrow key to display Tray Select.

Press Tray Select.
-
Press Tray #1, Tray #2, or Auto Tray Select.
Auto Tray Select allows the machine to feed paper from either Tray #1 or Tray #2 using the Paper Size and Paper Type you programmed for each tray.

If you do not want to change additional copy settings, press OK.

Press Black Start or Color Start.
