How do I send the same fax to multiple fax numbers? (Broadcasting)
Broadcasting is a feature of your Brother machine that allows you to automatically send the same fax message to multiple fax numbers. You can include Groups, Speed Dial locations, and up to 50 manually dialed numbers in a single broadcast. You cannot Broadcast a fax in color.
To broadcast a fax, please follow these instructions:
*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For Touchscreen models" below.
- Press (FAX).
- Do one of the following:
- To use the ADF (automatic document feeder), place your document face up, top edge first in the ADF.
- To use the scanner glass, place the document face down in the upper left hand corner of the scanner glass. Use the document guidelines on the left and top of the scanner glass.
- To use the ADF (automatic document feeder), place your document face up, top edge first in the ADF.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Advanced Settings.
- Press OK.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Broadcasting.
- Press OK.
- You can add numbers to the broadcast in the follow ways:
- Adding manually dialed numbers using the dial pad:
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Add Number.
- Press OK.
- Enter a number using the dial pad.
- Press OK.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Add Number.
- Adding Speed Dial locations:
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Speed Dial.
- Press OK.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Alphabetical Order or Numerical Order.
- Press OK.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose a number.
- Press OK.
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Speed Dial.
- Adding manually dialed numbers using the dial pad:
- After you have entered all the fax numbers by repeating step7 , press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Complete.
- Press OK.
- Press Black (Mono) Start.
- Faxing from the ADF
- The machine starts scanning and sending the document.
- The machine starts scanning and sending the document.
- Faxing from the scanner glass
When the LCD asks you Next Page?, do one of the following:
- To send a single page, press 2 (or press Black (Mono) Start again. The machine starts sending the document.
- To send more than one page, press 1 and place the next page on the scanner glass. Press OK. The machine starts scanning the page. (Repeat this step for each additional page.)
- To send a single page, press 2 (or press Black (Mono) Start again. The machine starts sending the document.
- Faxing from the ADF
- If a particular number is busy, the fax unit will redial the number automatically. If there is no response from a particular number, the fax machine will not redial it.
- The available memory will vary depending on the types of jobs in the memory and the number of locations used for broadcasting. If you broadcast to the maximum numbers available, you will not be able to use dual access and delayed faxing.
- If the memory is full, press Stop/Exit to stop the job. If more than one page has been scanned, press Black (Mono) Start to send the portion that is in the memory.
<For Touchscreen models>
- Press (FAX).
- Do one of the following:
- To use the ADF (automatic document feeder), place your document face up, top edge first in the ADF.
- To use the scanner glass, place the document face down in the upper left hand corner of the scanner glass. Use the document guidelines on the left and top of the scanner glass.
- To use the ADF (automatic document feeder), place your document face up, top edge first in the ADF.
- Press the LEFT OR RIGHT ARROW key to display Advanced Settings..
- Press Advanced Settings..
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to display Broadcasting.
- Press Broadcasting.
- You can add numbers to the broadcast in the following ways:
- Adding manually dialed numbers using the buttons on the Touchscreen:
- Press Add Number.
- Enter a number by pressing the buttons on the Touchscareen.
- Press OK.
- Press Add Number.
- Adding Speed Dial locations:
- Press Speed Dial.
- Press to search by Alphabetical Order or Numerical Order. Press the locations where you want to send a fax.
- Press OK.
- Press Speed Dial.
- Adding manually dialed numbers using the buttons on the Touchscreen:
- After you have entered all the fax numbers by repeating step7, press OK.
- Press Black (Mono) Start.
- Faxing from the ADF
- The machine starts scanning and sending the document.
- Faxing from the scanner glass

- To send a single page, press No (or press Black (Mono) Start again. The machine starts sending the document.
- To send more than one page, press Yes and place the next page on the scanner glass. Press Black (Mono) Start. The machine starts scanning the page. (Repeat this step for each additional page.)
- To send a single page, press No (or press Black (Mono) Start again. The machine starts sending the document.
- Faxing from the ADF
