FAQs & Troubleshooting |
Can I print a report that will show a listing of faxes I sent and received?
The Fax Journal report lists information about the last 30 incoming and outgoing faxes. Using this report, you can tell the date and time each fax was sent or received, the name or number the fax was sent to or received from (provided the Station ID has been set), and whether or not the transmission was successful. When the 31st fax is sent or received, the 1st fax is deleted from memory.
You can print this report on demand by following these steps:
-
Press the Copy/Reports key and press the up or down navigation key until FAX JOURNAL appears.
-
Press Menu/Set.
In addition, you can set the Brother machine to print the Fax Journal report at regular intervals (every 30 faxes; every 6, 12, or 24 hours; every 2 or 7 days). The default setting is every 30 faxes. To set or change the interval at which the Fax Journal report prints, follow these steps:
-
Press the Menu/Set key.
-
Press the up or down navigation key until SETUP REPORTS or REPORT SETTING appears and press Menu/Set.
-
Press the up or down navigation key until JOURNAL PERIOD appears and press Menu/Set.
- Press the up or down navigation key to choose an interval, then press Menu/Set to confirm your choice.
If you choose 7 days, the LCD will ask you to choose a day on which to begin the 7-day countdown.
-
Enter the time you want the report to begin printing in 24-hour format. For example, enter 19:45 rather than 7:45PM. After entering the time, press Menu/Set to confirm your choice.
-
Press the Stop/Exit key to exit the menu.
- If you select Every 30 Faxes:
the Brother machine will print the Journal when the machine has stored data for 30 faxes.
- If you select an interval other than Every 30 Faxes:
the Brother machine will print the report at the designated time and then erase all stored fax data from its memory.
- If the machine's memory becomes full with 30 entries before the amount of time you selected has passed:
the Brother machine will print the Journal early and then erase all stored fax data from memory.
- If you want an extra report before it is due to print:
you can print it without erasing the fax data in memory.
On the Fax Journal, TX indicates a fax you sent, while RX indicates a fax you received.
