You can use the following methods to connect your printer wirelessly.
There is a WLAN access point/router: infrastructure mode
Wireless configuration temporarily using a USB cable (recommended)

One-push configuration using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup™)
For the connection method, see "Establishing a wireless network connection using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup™)" of the FAQ: "How do I connect the printer to my computer via Wi-Fi®?".
When connecting wirelessly using a WLAN access point/router, confirm the SSID and password of the WLAN access point/router beforehand.
There is no WLAN access point/router
Establishing a wireless network connection using Wireless Direct
When connecting using Wireless Direct, you cannot connect the printer to multiple mobile devices at the same time.
Establishing a wireless network connection using the Ad-hoc mode

When connecting wirelessly using a WLAN access point/router, Wireless Direct can be used, but it cannot be used at the same time as the Ad-hoc mode.
