Why does the machine display "ERROR"?

This message appears when some key was pressed but the operation could not be executed. Press the "BS" key to clear the message.

The following conditions would cause the machine to display "ERROR":

  • The "Print" key is pressed when there is no cassette tape installed.

Install the tape cassette and try printing again.

  • The "Print" key is pressed when there is no text to be printed.

Type the text and press the "Print" key again.

  • The "Print" key is pressed to print a two-line-label when using a 1/4" (6 mm)-wide-tape.

    You can only print a two-line-label using 3/8" (9 mm) - or 1/2" (12 mm) - wide-tape.

  • The "Print" key is pressed when the character size is larger than the tape width.

Please adjust the character size. If you set it to "AUTO", the character size automatically adjusts to the largest size possible according to the tape width.

  • The "Return" key was pressed when there were two lines of text on the display.

Two lines can be placed on the label at the maximum.
