What do the indicator lights mean?

The indicators light and blink to indicate the printer's status. The following symbols are used in this FAQ to explain the meaning of the different indicator colors and patterns.

	Depends on whether the Editor Lite mode is on or off *1	The DK Roll Compartment Cover is open.	-
		System OFF mode	-
(Once every 0.5 second)	Depends on whether the Editor Lite mode is on or off *1	Cooling mode	Wait approximately 10 minutes, and then try printing again.
(0.3 second × 3 times)	(0.3 second × 3 times)	Data overwrite mode	Updating the information in the printer.
		Boot mode	Turn off the printer and then turn it on again. If the problem still occurs, contact Brother Customer Service.
(Once every 1 second)	Depends on whether the Editor Lite mode is on or off *1	Media end error	Replace the DK Roll with a new one. If there is sufficient tape remaining, install the DK Roll correctly. -> Click here to see how do I install/change the label roll
		Feed error	Insert the end of the DK Roll correctly.
		No media error	Load the DK Roll. -> Click here to see how do I install/change the label roll
		Wrong media error	Load the correct DK Roll. -> Click here to see how do I install/change the label roll
		Cover open error	Close the DK Roll Compartment Cover correctly.
		Communication error	Transfer of the data failed. When sending a template as a .blf file, the model name in the file is different. -> Check the data and the connection status between the printer and the computer. For Windows: If this error occurs during 2-color printing, click the [Print] button in P-touch Editor, and then change [Output] to [Standard] in the [Print] dialog box that appears. If [High Resolution] is selected, you cannot use 2-color printing.
		Memory full error	Reduce the size of the print data or delete unnecessary files, and then transfer the data again.
(0.9 second off + 0.3 second × 2 times flashing repeatedly)	Depends on whether the Editor Lite mode is on or off *1	Cutter error	Do not open the DK Roll compartment cover when the cutter is operating. To clear this error, press any button.
(Once every 0.3 second)		System error	Turn off the printer and then turn it on again. If the problem still occurs, contact Brother Customer Service.
