How do I make my copied images lighter or darker?
Temporarily changing the Copy Brightness setting
You can make your copied images darker or lighter by adjusting your Brother machine's Copy Brightness setting.
To change the Copy Brightness setting for your next copy job, follow these steps:
- Press the COPY key to illuminate it.
- Do one of the following:
- For MFC-8370DN and MFC-8380DN:
Place the document you want to copy into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) face down, top edge first.
For MFC-8480DN, MFC-8680DN, MFC-8880DN and MFC-8890DW:
Place the document you want to copy into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) face up, top edge first.
- Place the document you want to copy face down on the flat scanner glass.
- For MFC-8370DN and MFC-8380DN:
- Use the dial pad to enter the number of copies you want to make (up to 99).
- Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Bright.
or
Press the Options key and press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Brightness.
- Do one of the following:
- Press the LEFT ARROW key to make a lighter copy.
- Press the RIGHT ARROW key to make a darker copy.
- Press the LEFT ARROW key to make a lighter copy.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the START key to start copying.
Programming a new default Copy Brightness setting
You can change your Brother machine's default Copy Brightness setting by following these steps:
- Press MENU and choose Copy => Brightness.
- Do one of the following:
- Press the LEFT ARROW key to make a lighter copy.
- Press the RIGHT ARROW key to make a darker copy.
- Press the LEFT ARROW key to make a lighter copy.
- Press the OK key.
- Press the STOP/EXIT key.
