FAQs & Troubleshooting

When receiving a single page fax, why does the fax print on two pages or eject a blank sheet afterwards?

When receiving a fax, your Brother machine automatically allows space at the top of the page for header information.

If you set Auto Reduction to Off, a blank page may be ejected along with the printed page due to the machine moving the image down the page to make room for the header.
In order to stop this from occurring, set Auto Reduction to On.
Follow the steps below to set Auto Reduction to On.

  1. Press Settings(Settings). (This step might be skipped in some models.)

  2. Press All Settings.

  3. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Fax, and then press Fax.

  4. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Setup Receive, and then press Setup Receive.

  5. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Auto Reduction, and then press Auto Reduction.

  6. Press On.

  7. Press Home(Home).
