FAQs & Troubleshooting

Set up my Brother machine to forward the received faxes to another location.

You can use your machine's Fax Forwarding feature to forward the faxes you receive to another location. When Fax Forwarding is on, your machine will receive a fax into its memory, dial the fax number you programmed, and forward the fax to that number.

When Fax Forwarding is on, you cannot receive a color fax unless the sending machine converts it to black and white.

To turn Fax Forwarding on, follow these steps:
*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For touchscreen models" below.

  1. Press MENU or MENU/SET and choose Fax => Remote Fax Opt => Fwd/Page/Store or Forward/Store.

  2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Fax Forward.

  3. Press the OK or MENU/SET key.

    • You can manually enter a number, or use a One Touch or Speed Dial number.
If you enter a One Touch or Speed Dial number that contains a Group, your faxes will be forwarded to every number in that Group.

    • If you choose Backup Print: Off and a problem occurs during Fax Forwarding, then your received fax may be erased from memory before it can be printed.
